I designed the semi-annual magazine for The Rock Poster Society. During the pandemic, I inherited an incredible collection of Bill Graham posters from the late 1960s. This took me down many rabbit holes, eventually leading me to attend a TRPS event at Faction Brewing in Alameda. I fell in love with the rock poster art scene and discovered many fantastic artists like Carolyn Ferris and Chuck Sperry. They’ve been around for a while, but they were new and exciting to me.
I was thrilled when the inner circle of TRPS invited me to revamp the design of their member newsletter. My main innovations included introducing front and back covers, a centerfold poster for the featured artist, and a 7-column grid. I tried to maximize the artists’ work by using imagery and backgrounds that complement the art and storytelling. The gallery below shows the front cover and a spread from each issue I designed.
